Growing Together, Investing in Others, & Letting Others Invest in You
Adult Fellowship Communities are our vehicle to obey the scriptural command to help grow each other by encouraging one another. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." These groups bridge the gap that exists between the large corporate gathering of Worship and the individual care of the small group. We greatly encourage you to place yourself in a group and under a shepherd who will see that you are cared for, nourished, and held accountable by the other members in that community.
Fellowship Communities Mission Statement
Our Fellowship Communities exist to involve our church attenders in midsize fellowships where they can be cared for in biblical communities, grow spiritually through interactive Bible application, and develop personal relationships.
Not Just Another Class
These groups meet every Sunday morning at 11:15 am to interact with the material just presented in the Worship Service. The purpose of the meeting is to interact with the questions, "So what?" "What does this have to do with my life?" "How can I apply this sermon to my relationship with my coworkers, my family, my neighbors, my fellow church members, and my God?" Your Shepherd will lead the discussion to follow along those lines.
Not everyone in the group will have the opportunity or even the desire to speak out in a group of this size, and there is no obligation to do so. However, everyone will still benefit from listening to others and from the increased exposure to fellowship and relationships.
The goal is for these communities to go beyond Sunday mornings and to have outings, do service projects together, gather in small groups, have evangelistic outreaches, and care for those in their group who have physical, spiritual, and material needs. The family life that churches unfortunately lose as a result of growing bigger is reborn in these groups. Consider it a youth group for adults!
