Overview of Children's Ministries

Charles Spurgeon said, "You are teaching children, so mind what you teach them. Take care what you are doing!... It is a child's soul you are tampering with... It is a child's soul you are preparing for eternity... If it is an evil to mislead grey-headed age, it must be far more so to turn aside the feet of the young into the road of error, in which they may forever walk."
We believe that Children's Ministry is essential for the raising of godly children. These ministries form a firm foundation upon which an entire lifetime will be built. We believe the church has a responsibility to teach children the Bible as a foundation that the parents can build upon (Deuteronomy 6:4-9), and the church can encourage in the future (2 Timothy 3:14-15). We believe that children need to learn about God and primarily how they should relate to Him.
Nursery
Our nurseries are available during all regularly scheduled services for newborns to 35 months. We consider this both a ministry to our children and our parents. Our goals are to provide a safe, loving environment and create a positive image of "church" in the child's mind by making the nursery a pleasant experience.
We want our parents to be able to participate fully in the services and other ministries of our church, knowing that their children are receiving excellent care by screened and qualified workers.
3 years - 4 years and 5 years - 1st grade
These two age groups have a service that is especially crafted for their young minds and hearts. During the first and second hours, they learn basic Bible truths through teaching, games, art, and crafts.
Orbit (2nd -6th grade)
Orbit is our Children's Ministry for 2nd-6th graders with an age appropriate Worship Service starting at 10:00 every Sunday morning in the basement. Our Orbit services consist of Bible lessons, singing, activities, snacks and offering.
The second hour allows them to rotate in Bible workshops where they engage the lesson through drama, crafts, or computers.
